Schoolkrijt Zwart (Black School Chalk) is Chalk-shaped licorice pieces with a candy coating.
Flavour: Deep black licorice with notable salmiak (ammonium chloride) and anise notes.
Soft, firm and sweet with licorice flavour. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.
It’s a novelty/delicacy style of licorice: shaped like chalk (“schoolkrijt”) which is a playful concept in Dutch sweets culture.
The taste is bold and strong. If you normally prefer mild or sweet sweets, this may be more intense than expected.
Verify the version you’re buying is indeed the “Zwart” (black) variety if that is what you want.
