Venco’s “Honingdrop” (literally “honey-licorice”) is a firm licorice candy shaped like a beehive.
Flavoured with pure drop (licorice extract), salmiak (ammonium chloride) and natural honey.
It falls into the “drop” category—hard licorice candy common in the Netherlands. Some people love the flavour; others find it very strong.
Because of the salmiak (ammonium chloride) component and strong licorice extract, it has a distinctive taste—sweet honey plus the bold licorice/salmiak edge.
The honey flavouring is real but small (honey 0.3%) so the licorice-character remains prominent.
